Having a hard time?
If you study ethics or psychology you probably had to study the biblical story of Job as a moral framework.
It tries to answer the big question of having a seriously hard time.
The story goes that Job has a lot of pain inflicted by Satan and God allows it. This is to test Job's faith.
He loses his whole family and all means to make an income.
He remains faithful.
He is wrongly blamed by his fellow believers that this all happened because he sinned, while this was not true. He was more religious than they were. I think the moral here is that you shouldn't point a finger at others.
It is a depressing story with no real answers, seen from a moral perspective.
Everyone seems to be in the wrong here, God, Satan and the followers of God. Job is the one paying the price.
The innocent seems to pay the price for dogma and life itself. Even though the story ends well, it usually doesn't for others.
It seems we are all the same in the end, innocent or not. A good life doesn't seem to have anything do with being inclined to one or the other way concerning faith, goodness, criminal or other.
I think the story of Job is a brave one, slapping everyone through the face with these daring propositions.
