One plus one?

What is real?

I loved the movie 'Matrix', where a computer constructed a reality for us.

In reality we were 'asleep' in pods and our bodies' energy was used to power these computers.

But what is real?

Ironically 1+1 does not add up to 2.

A person plus another person aren't really 2 people because it depends on how we define a 'person'.

People differ from each other, so they aren't 100% alike.

Some have blue eyes, other brown. Long vs. short and so on.

What a 'person' is, is a definition that excludes the differences.

Defintions also change.

A woman these days is defined by woke as a person that has nothing to do with the sex you have been born with.

So if 1 and 1 only concerns the similarities that excludes the differences, we really don't see reality for what it is.

We live in a oversimplified world where we have deliberately distorted reality.

It makes life easier, because if I want to buy 6 eggs, I won't bother with differences.

I think we all live in a bubble where we ignore most differences to save us from using too much brain energy, so we will never really understand each other or the world outside of us.

We use concepts to understand the objects in the world, not the objects themselves.

It seems that trying to understand what is real isn't all about making a strong telescope to see what is 'out there,' but in the language we use.
